It's also the highest mark since 2008. The averages according to company size are 300 for large, and 96 for midsize and 72 for small operators. The figure for small companies was actually a decline of 12 projects. On average, 75% of these jobs are new installations as opposed to upgrades. Ethernet/ IP network UTP/ twisted pair 4% Wireless Fiber optics Although coaxial cable continues to dominate it has lost 20 percentage points since 2007 (3 in 2012). Ethernet/ IP network cabling was the category exhibiting the strongest growth, with a 4-point ascent (9 points the past two years). Fiber gained 1 point, and wireless stood pat. UTP incurred a 2-point slide for a combined 6-point hit since 2010. The former rose by one and the latter rang up an additional $1,438, or nearly 13%. When compared on a per-camera basis, income climbed slightly from $1,250 per to $1,269. More than three-fourths of companies (77%) rack up less than $15,000 per surveillance project. The top three video surveillance vertical markets are office buildings (19%), residential (16%) and retail (14%).
