Industry Pulse COMPANY NEWS IR Helps Streamline School Grant-Funding Services Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies offers a cloud-based database to help schools locate federal and state grant funding information. Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies (IR) has augmented its grant-funding ser- vices to school superintendents, princi- pals, facility managers, maintenance and locksmith personnel, and grant writers by creating a 24/7 cloud-based database of federal and state grant funding infor- mation. Among its benefi ts, the database details who in the school must write the grant and relays the type of equipment that the grant will help purchase. An estimated $11.5 billion in federal, state, private foundation and corporate grants are available, but can be hard to discover. "It is part of our commitment to the nation's schools that when it comes to safety and security, [IR] will continue to be their best partner in helping locate the money they need," says April Dalton- Noblitt, director of vertical marketing, IR. ASSA ABLOY Extends Market Reach With Alarm Controls Buy ASSA ABLOY has acquired Alarm Controls Corp., a Deer Park, N. Private Equity Firm Buys Stake in Convergint Technologies Convergint Technologies will recapital- ize its current debt after striking a deal with KRG Capital Partners, which has taken an equity stake in the Schaumburg, Ill.-based systems integrator. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. T e deal will help Convergint increase its organic growth and pursue acquisitions that will bolster the fi rm's geographic coverage, Convergint Co-founder and CEO Dan Moceri tells SSI. "While Convergint will continue to fund growth from operations, KRG gives us the ability to pursue larger invest- ments, " he says. "Additionally, we will be able to expand our IT-based off erings to our customers and provide more holistic security protection." SW24 to Introduce Monthly Residential Monitoring Contracts New York-based SecureWatch24 (SW24) is launching several intrusion packages without long-term monitoring contracts to provide additional convenience for residential customers. T e packages will allow customers to make monitoring payments on a month-to-month basis and remove the system when they see fi t. Consumers must pay an upfront fee that covers installation and other costs and purchase their own wireless equipment.
